Shortest distance

What is the distance between the seeker and what the seeker seeks?

……………….

To conceive of distance in any way, apart from being an abstraction, one needs reference points to measure from.

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line.  A line is one dimensional.  A plane is two dimensional.  A cube is three dimensional.

If the path of a seeker, already traveled, could be perceived as a visible trace-line, in time, it would be seen to be something like an overflowing bowl of spaghetti.  If the seeker could travel a straight line, the seeker would have to know exactly what it seeks and where it is.   Since the seeker is looking everywhere ‘outside’ of their ‘self’ – looking for their so-called ‘true self’, how can they ever find it?  It is all inadvertence of attention (awareness).

The definition of a point is zero dimensions.

Since any line, curly or straight, between two points is only one dimensional it must be composed of an infinite number of points.

So, if a point has no dimensions, then a line of points must also be composed of no dimensions – and the line only IMPLIES an apparent direction, separation and of course, distance.

(All directions and all dimensions are in the mind)

You cannot divide the shortest distance between two points.

Since by definition, the shortest distance cannot be shorter, how can you divide it?  You have to ADD something, a point between the other two points.  That is not division – that is addition!

The path that so-called seekers imagine that they walk upon is only a conceptual path, it must be obvious that the one who walks on it is also imaginary.

The intellect declares ‘If there are two points – there must be a distance between them’.

The meaning of Non Duality…….is One WITHOUT a second.

…………….

Got it?

There is no answer in the mind. Oneness cannot be divided. To divide it you have to ADD something imaginary. Cease to add the self-center reference point and the natural unity of all things is clear and obvious.  Everything is Clear and Obvious as it is.

  1. Belief will keep you going in a direction away from the natural unicity. Recognize that there is no answer in the mind. Oneness cannot be divided under any circumstances. An imaginary division is nothing but addition. Stop adding the ‘me fixation’. To divide oneness you have to ADD something imaginary. Cease to add the self-center reference point and the natural unity of all things is obvious.

  2. Every individual has a story, but it is important to understand we are NOT our stories. Only a few will come to this and realize the joy of living without a self-limiting, self-imposed story or ‘script.’ That matters little. Life (awareness) flows the way it does, unencumbered and limitless, unblemished by any story or any thing.

  3. BTW this is spectacular Gilbert!:

“The intellect declares ‘If there are two points – there must be a distance between them’.
The meaning of Non Duality…….is One WITHOUT a second.”
