Questions need to be asked – doubts cleared away.

It is pointless pretending to know. Can you recognize what that means?  Really?   It is pointless to pretend to know.  In the same way it is useless to pretend to be what you are.    Seekers are pretending to be what they are not and HOPING to become what they can never be.

Questions need to be asked – and from that, directives may be given.   If you do not reveal ‘where’ you are stuck, the pointing can only be in a general sense, which may or may not be helpful.

It is USELESS to pretend to know.

( Note: I see this ‘phenomena’ of pretending to know frequently and some very ‘prominent’ examples of it demonstrate this very well – however the one pretending cannot see it.  There are some unfortunate folk who ‘hold’ an apparent position of being someone who has ‘found the answer’ – and they may be able to talk endlessly about this stuff.  Good examples of this are not hard to find.  Churches have leaders who are obviously self-righteous, blind egoistic morons.  Many gurus are like this.  Some have videos on the web and some even have made it onto DVD’s heralded as a good example of  ‘teacher‘.   The pretending is so prominent, so obvious, it is an absurdity to watch.  They quite obviously do not see themselves clearly as they ramble and repeat a series of ‘mantras’ – as if the repeating of these mantras can ‘teach’ anything.   Of course a flavour of ‘lecturing’ pervades the scene.  These ‘experts’ are so blind to the actuality, that in a ‘group session’ they do not see their own stuckness clearly because they are obsessed with their own ‘spiritual self-image’.  They surround themselves with sycophants and anyone who ‘looks up’ to them and the ‘effect’ is a complete opposite of what the ‘teaching’ is about. They are encouraged by anyone who gives any little sign of appreciation.  This tickles the ego and so they can talk for hours upon hours, repeating the same stuff over and over.  One who is free of such messy stuff has the ability to LISTEN to where ‘the questioner’ is coming from.  The most valuable ‘pointing’ is in a clean exchange where the directives are a LIVING directive, acknowledging the obstacle and  pointing through it to the essence of being, right now.)

  1. I’m stuck in the fact that ‘I’ can be aware of a tree and ‘you’ can be aware of a car at the same time. Doesn’t this imply there are two awarenesses and that contradicts nonduality?

    • It may imply a lot of things in imagination. But bring it back to the clear and present evidence. You cannot know what another perceives and the ‘other’ is only an appearance ‘happening’ in the seeing-knowing. What we talk about here is Non Duality. That means basically ‘one without a second’. So, that means that there is no ‘other’. As long as you fixate on being a separate entity that is seeing or knowing, it is a conceptualization. Now a concept cannot see. The IDEA ‘I see’ cannot see or know anything. It is the mind translating the seeing-knowing into concepts about seeing-knowing. This is what I repeatedly point out – and no one hears it – as long as you cannot discriminate between the thought and that which knows the thought, then there will be identified notions about a ‘me’ and it is a total fiction. I don’t know how to put it any plainer. It seems that folks read this pointing out and the mind somehow clouds over – as a kind of self-protecting mechanism. It is crazy – the apparent entity or seeker wants to be enlightened and it will ‘do’ all kinds of nonsense for decades but it will not pay attention to clear pointing. Of course that is just another story and there never was a seeker in the first instance. It is all stories about a ‘me’ and if that ‘me’ is not investigated, then it will continue like a mechanical toy, with you winding it up whenever it requires it. Stop trying to conceptualize a way out – be totally with what is and do not deflect away from the obvious.

  2. See if you can understand this: The patterns of energy that appear, including ‘your body’, are appearing in the seeing. The seeing is not IN the body or believed in entity. The body, the apparent entity, the world and the universe all appear in or upon the seeing. Everything is the seeing – but there is no separate ‘thing’ anywhere. This obviousness only ‘makes sense’ in the pure seeing – where there is no entity. Therefore, no one ever became liberated. It is ALL THAT – seeing-knowing Essence – One without a second.

  3. So all there is is I? And not an objective I but just a present knowingness upon which all apparent ‘objects’ appear? And there is no such thing as a ‘Gilbert’ who is even aware of anything? And that ‘Gilbert’ can only appear and exist because of that ‘I’? In fact, nothing can be aware except I and all other things that appear to be aware are just appearances in I?

  4. It could be labelled as ‘I’ but no label fits – they all fail to stick to the non objective presence. ‘I’ is harmless on its own as a concept – it is what we add to that ‘I’ or ‘me’ that appears to bring so much trouble – it is all belief and nothing but belief. It is not actual.
