Sunny says…..”this may help”

Here is a clear comment from a previous posting’s comment section. For anyone this may help: What is suffering? I think its good to be clear on this point, because when its said to investigate this suffering and resolve it, it does not mean that one will be in some blissed out or joyous state from then on. Suffering is not the emotions, feelings, or thoughts, whether they are what you may label as positive or negative. Rather suffering happens simply because of the belief that those thoughts, feelings are happening to a self center/person/me/I. Now how do we investigate […]

From the comment section

Wayne, one of our frequent ‘comment makers’ posted this quote from J. Krishnamurti.  It is worth featuring as a post for those who may not read the comment section. “Time means moving from what is to “what should be.” I am afraid, but one day I shall be free of fear; therefore, time is necessary to be free of fear, at least, that is what we think. To change from what is to “what should be” involves time. Now, time implies effort in that interval between what is and “what should be.” I don’t like fear, and I am going […]

Potentiality and the appearance of phenomena.

Galaxy Hubble Photo of a galaxy   ‘We’ think we are so important.  The human species.  Observe the sheer intelligence of the universe – self organising – self illuminating. Your arm moves, the hand brushes away a speck of dust from your clothing.  Something catches your eye and you turn to gaze in a new direction.  A sound startles you and you turn again in another direction.  Who is directing these actions?   Is it a person?  An identity?   Where exactly is this director?   Which impulses does it accept and act upon and which impulses does it ignore? Idols and Shrines

If you are seeking truth or reality, where do you image that they are?  If they are not right where you are, where can you possibly be? How could you be separated from truth or reality? Of course it is easy to be critical of ‘teachings’ or anything at all, in fact – and it is also easy to fall for some fancy story about liberation.  There are rooms full of devotees, seekers who have been with some guru for decades.  They are encouraged to actively seek out new members, as if more will be better. The fact is that […]

Can’t find the ‘I’.

‘We’ search in all the wrong places – even if they were the right places, you would not find the identity of the one searching.   The cognising is not to be found anywhere – it has no location – it is everywhere, without any exception whatsoever.   The instant of recognition, the moment one realises one’s true nature, cannot be explained with any words or concepts.  The identified consciousness cannot suspect the true nature of consciousness or awareness – because it is mechanical, cannot know anything by itself, and all it has is second hand words, ideas, concepts and […]

Cloudy day – muddy waters

The old saying “You are one in a million” does not go far enough.  You are one in 6 billion – that is closer to the statistical ‘truth’.  You are completely unique. I am one in a trillion but who cares about me? Each of us is unique, a unique expression – not separate from.  Not isolated and a ‘part’ that is apart from. One without a second is the single essence expressing AS………as everything.  The mind discriminates and seems to ‘create’ duality via the concepts of ‘seer’ and the ‘seen’.   The blindingly obvious nature of the seer and […]

Correspondence #21

Access to hidden notes is easy to arrange. Just register with a genuine email address. This gives access to many notes that are not otherwise accessible.  You will see how few are interested in this material.  There is nothing in this for the ‘me’.  Most want to feed the ego and the bowl is empty here.   These pieces of correspondence may be read in sequence, 1,2,3 etc.  Most of them are only accessible after registering.  This, most recent one, is from an online chat feature in gmail.  R….. is a serious inquirer, full of many questions or at least […]

It can’t be that simple – says habit.

States of mind come and go. The ‘fence’ is the concept of separation. You may long to be on the other side of the fence. It appears that you are separated from what you love. (Longing for the Beloved is an example)  By not loving the apparent self totally, ‘we’ project ‘over the fence’ an ‘object’ which is only fabricated in mind and then we longed for it – and it is nowhere other than in the same mind that longs for it.  The same situation applies to your true identity. You can’t get ‘there’ because you are always ‘here’ […]

Down to basics – return to GO.

From the comment section – Dougrek writes: “Speaking of ‘exhaustion.” Yesterday during a long walk in the country I found myself feeling (with nonduality) very much like the freshman calculus student I once was, frustrated at a nonsensical new language I could not hope to understand. That the course was taught by a very young Vietnamese graduate student with poor English skills only adds to the appropriateness of the analogy. I read the posts and the comments, all of them apparently from the same choir of voices (are there any ‘non-knowers’ out there beyond me?). And so it occurred to […]
