Nothing to acquire – no seeker. Distrubing the slumber + plus other writings

If you wake a sleeping traveler, by the side of the road, because he is being robbed by a dozen monkeys, is it the right thing to do? Should you just walk on by and let things take their own course?
What are some of your cherished beliefs? Are you willing to drop them all and SEE ‘what is’? Everyone is an appearance in the clear awareness that you ARE. There are no exceptions – it is ALL appearance. Each seemingly separate appearance is equal to any other appearance. Words are words. Words can enchant the unwary and words can free the word bound mind. Is it true? Surely after all this ‘time’ you should know the answer to this question. Are you asleep? Do you wish to remain undisturbed in a swooning delusional set of beliefs? Isn’t your deepest wish to be free of all delusion? Are you willing to pay the price?
Generation after generation, in the appearance of things, get caught up with some guru. We have all witnessed it but how many have truly been freed by these mass communicators? Krishnamurti had thousands and thousands over decades and decades and yet after forty years of talking he was apparently somewhat disturbed that no one had ever truly ‘got the message’. The followers and devotees just wanted ‘a life style thing’, to feel special and spiritual. The radical message was ignored over and over BECAUSE it was addressed to the essence of what we are – NOT to the ‘personality’. Spirituality is crammed with so much pretension it has become a massive joke. And it is also a very profitable business.
The average ‘person’ who is not ‘in the spiritual scene’, just shake their heads in disbelief of how ‘stupid’ spiritual people can be. They have a point.
It is kind of disgusting how ‘people’ can lock themselves into something that has no clear evidence whatsoever to support the main beliefs they hold onto.
It is so obvious that the guru wallows in endless devotional attention and his message gets distorted very quickly because the traces of his ego, which he believed he was free of, gets nourished and it seeps out of his elbows in copious quantities.
The ego bound seeker does not recognize this obvious display because they are under the spell of their Idol. Without very clear and direct pointing, seekers are left to their own devices and they just ‘do’ what they always do. Worship an image of perfection, which ironically is the very nature of their bondage.
These popular gurus are merely devious pests. They pretend to bring freedom but it is just more bondage. Like a wolf dressed in sheepskin they know what they are doing.
No one is freed. A few are hypnotized into believe that they have been awakened by the guru. Slavery to another image – a spiritual self-image that has no actual substance and no independent nature whatsoever.
There is actually no one in bondage and there is no actually seeker. There is an appearance of seeking only because there is a concept that something is missing.
The direct pointing points you back to the space-like nature of seeing-knowing.
The revelation is nothing but pure seeing.
Once this has ‘happened’ there is pure knowing – a knowing that there is no one here and that there never was anyone here.
So, the point I am making is, that if these ‘enlightened gurus’ were actually genuine, they would not feed seekers with concepts of the possibility of ‘someone ever acquiring anything’.
You see, as soon as one accuses one of these gurus of being a fake, many devotees leap to defend the gurus ‘image’. But if this guru was actually worth his weight in salt, the devotees would know that the ‘image’ of the guru (AND their own self-image) is worthless and their guru would have already delivered them from delusions about himself. It is all such an obvious fraudulent parade of egos, it is almost a bit sad.
Their defence mechanism automatically jumps on the first idea that pops up, that the accuser is in error and that it is the accuser who misses the point. Not necessarily so.
Maybe the non devotional observer and SEE what the devotees cannot see.
Blinded by their own adoration for the guru, they miss the essential nature of all appearances, including their own ‘appearance’.
Belief is NOT the actual.
Devotion to a guru is ‘the long way home’. It is called ‘Bhakta’ in the Hindu Tradition.
Knowing is Immediate. It is called ‘Jnana’ in the Hindu Tradition.
Why are the loving ways of a guru so seductive? Because due to erroneous beliefs ‘we’ lack a love of ourselves. Devotion is easy but it does not deal with our sense of separation from the world. Some say that there is no love in this direct message about BEING. Actually it is more merciful than seduction via devotion. You have the potency to free yourself from the concept of separation – but ONLY YOU can make the investigation. The love of being starts with you – it is not ‘out there’ somewhere.
Warning to ‘spiritual types’.
Many seekers are extremely attached to the concept of ‘process’ and insist that there is a process and that they are in that process. The ‘news’ that there is no process of becoming is not welcomed by them. In fact they get very upset about anyone who dismisses the idea of ‘becoming’. They do not realize that there is only BEING. Whom ever their favorite Guru may be, that gurus self-realization ‘was’ in BEING. All arguments about this are futile. There is nothing on this site for anyone who is not willing to question their own beliefs about ‘becoming’. You are not a spiritual self-image and all the fuss and stress about ‘becoming’ is nothing but the constant changes of a self-image and its accompanied dream of becoming something ‘other’ than what it is.
There is nothing here for adding new concepts to the believed in spiritual self-image. If that is what you are looking for, then you have come to the wrong place. Please leave before you lose some cherished ideas about yourself. I need to mention this up front because the incentive here is not to disturb anyone or rob them of their beliefs or to replace any beliefs with new beliefs. This site is primarily for those who are willing to drop their unsatisfactory beliefs and go beyond them. The sense of separation will not disappear by wishing it to. It must be explored and expanded so that a good look at it can happen. Only then will your true essence break through the crusty surface of erroneous beliefs. Every effort is made to assist – but you have to SEE for yourself.
Don’t give in to any darkness of spirit.
See and Know.
The mind translates by habit and uses the past as a guide.
Yet this moment is ever fresh and has no past or future.
Know this intimately as best you can.
There is no implication here, of wishing to convince anyone about anything. Belief is not necessary and so belief is not asked of anyone. Whatever needs to be recognized is already clear and obvious as ‘what is’.
However, this clear and obvious may appear to be obscured by what the mind believes. Having the courage to explore ‘what is’ is naturally present. Erroneous beliefs may ‘stand in the way’ of clear seeing – but is it true? Can SEEING be obscured by anything – surely it must be obvious that everything appears in the seeing.
Love of being is natural. All other forms of love are conceptual projections. Be warm towards your own self. This living resonance of life takes you where you need to go and also reveals that you have not gone anywhere – that you are complete in this timeless moment – that is the realization.
