An emailed question: Self Inquiry: Who am I ? – Who is asking?

Gilbert,
My name is……(the writer has asked for his email to be removed) – Regards, G.
The Reply still stands:
Self inquiry is not useful as a repeating pattern – it should be over quickly – as a long term practice in turns into a prison of frustration.
Why?
Because, there is no ‘self’ to find. What you are is what you are. What you seek you already ARE.
WHO is asking the question “Who am I?”
The thing to SEE is that all answers are conceptual answers.
Where are you SEEING from?
Look into that space of knowing………..and SEE that it is empty. There are no thoughts lodged in that space.
There is NO past, NO future and NO present.
The ONLY reality that you are absolutely certain of is the FACT of your own being.
Just SEE that this BEING is not divided into personal and impersonal BEING.
There is NO center and no circumference to this BEING.
You CANNOT negate this KNOWING.
It is COSMIC. It is NOT personal.
I know that you ARE THAT.
Whether you know it or not makes no difference.
Relax.
You have never lived a life.
LIFE lives you.
Cease this seeking immediately.
It is all concepts….and nothing but concepts.
Concepts are ephemeral appearances – you can chase them as long as you wish…but you will never catch one.
Belief is NOT the Actual.
That is it. Simple.
Warm regards – Gilbert.
P.S. Eckhard Tolle’s material is very conceptual and leads the mind back into the search, which can go on for ever.
He does say a few things that are clear and precise. But clear and precise material does not SELL. In the appearance of things, no one wants to give up the search, because their false identity is locked up in the search and a story of me.
HOW ridiculous………..who is looking for whom?
Where are you SEEING from?
Surely that is where you ARE. Yet it is not in the FORM. Incarnation is a concept. Spirit and matter are ONE.
There is NO separation.
It is a done deal.
That is it. You owe me nothing.
