Yes, understood. Why not investigate the frustration and SEE if there is actually something with any substance or independent nature that can stand on its own and you can say "This is what I am". Of course we use the mind to investigate the mind. Inattention leads to a parade of conceptualizations. Attention to what is going on reveals what is going on - not for an entity - it is pure seeing that is seeing. if you are expecting to gain something, like some concept called 'enlightenment' then frustration will be perpetuated naturally. In the ancient Buddhist texts from Tibet, texts which were secret texts for hundreds and hundreds of years, it says "There is no difference between a Buddha and an ordinary being".
The SAME 'light' or 'energy' forms all the pattern of the manifestation (Nirmanakya) and there is NO SEPARATION between samsara and nirvana.
The discriminating mind is seemingly caught in the realm of 'words'.
Drop all words and SEE that "The Great Perfection" is Non Conceptual Awareness.
This is not somewhere else, not up in the sky floating on a sacred cloud, with ribbons and rainbows. It is right HERE, right NOW.
What obscures it? Belief in thoughts.
Now I can tell you this and it may go straight over your head.
Or it may strike a note of harmonious resonance in being.
The fixation called 'me' is resistance to what is.
I cannot help you - all I can do is point. The rest is up to you - and there isn't one.
See that and be free.

Hi Gilbert,

Have been catching up on your posts and, as always, listening to UGC. I think something that frustrates many seekers including myself is the constant guidance to "look" or "see" or "recognize," etc., all while simultaneously recognizing that the mind is nothing but a bundle of conditioned thoughts. But to do all that seeing and looking requires that same mind because, as Krishnamurti and others have pointed out, it's the only instrument we've got (and, again, it is that instrument that has us so befuddled into imagining ourselves real and separate).

So in essence it sometimes feels as if we're being told, "You're a carpenter with only one tool - a hammer - and you've erroneously used that hammer to construct a false identity. Now go use that hammer to 'see' what you've been doing wrong."

It feels like a Catch-22 and is frustrating.
